Description

  • Length: 25"
  • Wing Span: 24"
  • Weight: 3.3lb (1,500g)
  • Description: Large black & white diving duck with a long slender dusky yellow bill. Black cap, back of neck, and back. White cheek, throat and chest. Black covering the Red eye is distincitve.
  • Gender Differences: Males & Females are alike. Non-breeding & Breeding very similar in appearance.

  • A large black-and-white grebe, the Western Grebe breeds in lakes and ponds across the American West and winters primarily off the Pacific Coast
