Description
- Length: 25"
- Wing Span: 24"
- Weight: 3.1lb (1,400g)
- Description: Large black & white diving duck with a long slender bright yellow to orange bill. Black cap, back of neck, and back. White cheek, throat and chest. White covering the Red eye is distincitve.
- Gender Differences: Males & Females are alike. Non-breeding & Breeding very similar in appearance.
Factoids:
- A white-faced version of the Western Grebe, the Clark's Grebe formerly was thought to be the same species. Differences in face and bill color keep the two grebes from interbreeding
